On Super Tuesday, voters across 14 states and the territory of American Samoa headed to the polls to decide who they want as the Democratic nominee for president. Rather than casting ballots directly for a candidate, voters in these primaries actually choose "delegates" or representatives who will then be sent to the party's national convention in July, where they will vote for a Democratic candidate based on the results of the primaries.
